Technical guidelines for waterway management

The Technical Guidelines for Waterway Management (Guidelines) represent current best management practice and incorporate advances in environmental and technical practice for river health restoration and protection, since the publication in 1991 of the Guidelines for Stabilising Waterways.

Ross Hardie from Alluvium Melbourne’s office was the principal author of the guidelines which are designed to achieve the most effective beneficial river health outcomes for the resources and effort invested.

Published by DSE these guidelines will assist waterway management professionals with above and in the planning, design and implementation of river health programs within a clearly defined planning framework.
