Glenelg River large wood installation
Engineered log jams were installed in the Glenelg River to modify the stream morphology and improve the habitat value for native fish such as river blackfish, mountain galaxias and southern pygmy perch. Our design and installation approach was modelled on techniques that we developed to maintain scour on the Snowy River in East Gippsland. Considerations to installation angles, height of stream bed, stream powers and bed material were used to optimise performance for the cheapest cost to the client.
