Waterwatch Victoria: a strategic review of future directions
Victorian Waterwatch (Waterwatch) is a community water monitoring, education and partnerships initiative that has been running since the late 1980s. Until recently the program was predominantly funded by the federal and state governments. Recent changes to federal funding however have reduced the available resources to run the Waterwatch program. The Waterwatch program now has approximately half the previous state-wide funding and cannot continue in its current form under current funding levels.
Alluvium was engaged by the Department of Sustainability and Environment (DSE) to undertake a strategic review of the Victorian Waterwatch (Waterwatch) program. Through this review we identified the current values and structure of Waterwatch, and made recommendations on the feasibility of the program into the future.
