Value adding to the FLOWS methodology for Victorian rivers

Since development in 2002 the FLOWS method has been used to determine environmental flow requirements for over 30 river systems throughout Victoria. Melbourne Water engaged Alluvium, in partnership with GHD, to undertake a review of the method and identify components where recent scientific advances could be incorporated to increase robustness of environmental flow recommendations. An assessment of alternative methodologies and a one-day workshop with industry experts and the State Government Technical Audit Panel formed the basis of recommendations that will value-add to the current method.
