Regional fish barrier assessment

Alluvium undertook an assessment of over 10,000 potential barriers to the movement of freshwater fish in the Burdekin Dry Tropics Region of Queensland. Using a GIS decision support tool created specifically for this project we identified 40 of the highest priority barriers for further investigation and remediation. We are currently assisting Burdekin Dry Tropics NRM to work with the owners and managers of the highest priority barriers to undertake the design and construction of remediation works to help the fish of the region get on the move again!
